a personal note:
I've been in recovery for about 5 years now. It has taken
me this long to connect the word, "energy" to my emotions & feelings. There are so many factors in recovery. It's always
something different to think about, concentrate on, learn, integrate, etc. and it's always so tiring.
Aha! Tiring! It takes energy to recover, because as you use
up your energy - you become tired!
While I get "tired" from all the things you need to learn
in recovery & do in recovery, it's a very "positive" type of "tired" I find myself experiencing.
Think about it... do you think sadness, hate and loneliness
are types of energy? Well they are! And negative energy seems to take so much more from us. Positive energy through hope,
excitement and encouragement gives us strength!
Just take some time and ponder upon it all...

The Case for Positive Energy By Jon Gordon
Positive Energy….It’s a term being talked about a lot more frequently in classrooms, board rooms & locker rooms.
After all, when business legend Jack Welch says that great leaders have loads & loads of positive energy & Pete Carroll, coach of USC football credits positive energy as a key ingredient to winning two national championships, people listen, take notice & start asking questions. What is positive energy? How do I develop it as a leader? How can I infuse my team with it?
And with questions come answers; lots of them. You'd have to live on another planet
not to notice the new plethora of books & articles discussing the importance of positive leadership, positive cultures & positive relationships.
From books such as: The Power of Nice, What Happy Companies Know & How Full is
your Bucket to an abundance of new research, from researchers such as Daniel Goleman & Barbara Fredrickson, demonstrating
that positive people, positive interactions & positive work cultures produce positive results, there's a growing sentiment that positive energy is the cure for the ailing business, the suffering stock price, the battered leader, the
negative leadership team & the “sick” & “tired” morale & culture.
It's as University of Michigan Professor Kim S. Cameron described it, the holy grail
of business.
Yet, while I agree with this research & sentiment, there's a bigger,
deeper question that's often overlooked when we discuss positive energy.

In order to build a positive company, then, it's essential that there isn't only a positive leader but a positive leadership executive team who believes in nurturing & developing a culture of positive energy.
Too many times
I've been brought to speak to a company to infuse the employees with positive energy & 2 minutes after my talk an employee will
come up to me & say, “this all makes so much sense but the leaders who need to hear this aren't here & that’s the problem.” They're right.
To build
a positive company fueled by positive energy you’ll need to first get the executive team on the energy
bus because, while positive energy trickles up & sideways thru an organization, it flows powerfully
from the top down; from leaders, to managers, to employees to customers.
If you
have positive energy trickling up the organization but your leaders & managers
are causing negativity to flow down, the positive energy gets surrounded like the sun on a dark, cloudy day, creating a negative culture.
Nurture the Root Building a positive, successful company also requires leaders to have a long term vision & an understanding that
too many of their counterparts focus on the fruit of the tree - stock price, profits, costs, etc. & ignore the root -
the culture, trust, people & positive energy of the company.
Leaders
who run successful, positive companies know that when you take care of the root of the tree you'll always be pleased with the fruit it supplies.
If you ignore
the root, eventually the tree will dry up & so will the fruit. To nurture the root of your company you’ll
want to feed it lots of positive energy. And this is done by leaders who believe in the benefits of positive energy, urgently invest in it, nurture employees with it & as Pete Carroll said, “ingrain
it in everything they do.”
To fuel your business & growth with positive energy & ingrain it in everything you do here are a few best practices & strategies
that will get you & your team on the energy bus & moving in the right direction.

That's why when I speak to CEO’s & executives I ask them a simple question.
“If positive energy is so important & we all agree that the research demonstrates it
works, then why aren’t more companies, more positive?”
Why are there not more people skipping thru the halls, smiling at their co-workers
& loving their job?
Why do more people die Monday morning at 9am than any other time?
If positive energy is so important & leaders know it, then why does negativity cost companies 300 billion dollars a year according to the Gallup Organization.
And why do so many companies have morale & productivity challenges with 42% of
workers suffering from burnout according to a recent Harris Interactive survey?
The answer
is simply because positive energy doesn’t happen by osmosis & it clearly doesn’t happen
by sitting around, holding hands & singing Kumbaya.
Successful, positive companies with positive employees & positive cultures are created like anything else. Thru a set of principles, processes, systems & habits that are ingrained in
the corporate culture & each individual employee.
Positive companies aren’t born. They're developed. When it comes to corporate families there's
no such debate about nature vs nurture. It’s all about nurture.

Hire Positive People Sure everyone knows this. But the question you must ask yourself is do you have rigorous systems in place
that screen out negativity & ensure that you hire positive people.
It’s obviously a lot
easier to create a positive culture with people who are naturally more positive & this starts at the hiring process. Pat Riley said, “you don’t have to yell at someone who wants the same
things you do.” When you have positive people on the bus you’re more likely to have a positive ride.
Enhance Communication Peter Druecker says that 60% of management problems
are the result of faulty communication. This is because an organization is like a communication network or web of energy pipes
& where there's a void or gap in communication, negative energy will always fill it.
When people feel fearful or uncertain or unheard they start thinking the worse & act accordingly. And as negative energy fills more voids & grows in these gaps, the positive energy can’t flow thru the organization.
By designing systems
that enhance communication you eliminate the gaps & allow positive energy to flow thru the company. One example of this practice is PPR International,
a healthcare recruiting company, that holds a weekly Monday morning 8:30am meeting. The meeting lasts 10 minutes & everyone
in the company is briefed on everything each department will be working on that week.
Consider it a company’s
version of the football huddle. Another example is Google’s office layout that rejects cubicles in favor of wide
open work spaces & meeting rooms that foster better communication & idea collaboration.

Fill the Void
with Positive Energy - constantly & systematically
Once you have a healthy communication system in place you’ll want to make
sure you fill the energy pipes & communication network with positive energy. If positive energy is always flowing thru the organization then negativity can’t breed or take hold.
The key is to implement systems that foster more positive interactions, positive feelings & a positive culture. One example is Ken Blanchard, who isn't only a leadership guru for many companies but his own as well.
Ken’s title is Chief Spiritual Officer & each day he holds an all employee
call where he shares an inspirational message. Another example is First Transit whose bus drivers at one of their many airport
shuttle operations were low in morale, high in negativity & poor in performance.
A turn around team was put in place & immediately they instituted a system designed
to enhance positive interactions & feedback. Every time a supervisor noticed a bus driver doing something positive they praised the driver & also wrote their observation on a specially designed sheet of paper that was submitted to the
general manager.
The next day the general manager would personally hand the sheet of paper to each driver
& again praise them. That meant the bus drivers received two positive interactions for every one positive action.
Not surprisingly performance soared, morale improved dramatically, absenteeism decreased
& profits grew. Positive energy only takes root if it's ingrained in a system & process.

Eliminate Energy Vampires Not with stakes or garlic but with pink slips. Post a sign that says “No energy vampires allowed”
& eliminate anyone that sucks the energy & life out of your organization.
It may not
sound positive but it’s essential to create a positive culture & positive outcome. Too many leaders know who their negative employees are but they don’t know what to
do with them, so they do nothing which leads to dangerous consequences.
As Philadelphia
Eagles Quarterback Donovan McNab said about Terrell Owns, “One guy can’t make a team but one guy can break
a team.” Like a cancer, one energy vampire can spread negativity throughout a team & organization.
While you should
give them a chance to get on the energy bus & contribute to your positive culture, if they don’t make the necessary changes, then you’ll have to let them off the bus. The success of your
ride depends on it.
Drive with a Shared Vision & Purpose Howard Shultz,
founder of Starbucks told his people from the beginning that we aren't in the coffee business serving people but in the people
business serving coffee.
He not only
shared his vision for where Starbucks was going but he inspired people with a sense of purpose to make a difference
& enjoy the ride. Vision helps everyone in the organization see the road ahead & focus on the goals that'll lead to
their destination while purpose inspires them to work longer, harder & more passionately.
It doesn’t
matter how many meetings & positive interactions you have within your company, if everyone in your company isn't
driving in the same direction with a deeper sense of purpose, then you’ll never be as powerful, positive & successful as you could be.
Vision &
purpose not only keeps people on the bus but it causes them to get out & push when the engine breaks down. Vision
& purpose inspire individuals & teams to navigate the short term obstacles, adversities & potholes that so often
sabotage individual & team success, because they see & understand the long term vision for a better & brighter
future.
To share this
vision & purpose Howard Shultz held frequent town hall meetings where he invited everyone on his bus for what we
now know has been an amazing ride.
It’s important to know that positive energy is not the
cure all for every business ailment. You’ll always need to hire smart, intelligent, hardworking, insightful people that
deliver results. You’ll still need to get the right people on the bus that have the right vision, map and plans for
the road ahead. But without positive energy and the fuel to drive the bus forward, even the best and smartest drivers will
be left at a standstill while the competition drives positively past them. Positive energy is more than just a term. It is
a power source that will fuel your business and profits if you cultivate it within your people and engrain it into your process,
systems and culture.

Where, Oh Where, Has My Energy Gone? By Mary Kraemer, RN, RMT
How much
power, or energy, are you giving away to a situation? Giving away one’s power depletes the body of universal life-force
energy. The energy system is the essence of life; it’s also referred to as chi, life force, soul. Our energy system
reflects both illness and health. Repeatedly losing life-force energy can lead to physical and emotional depletion and render
the body ill.
Disease is a byproduct of an imbalance in life force energy in the physical, emotional, or spiritual
body. The imbalance can manifest itself as physical problems, in situations, or as patterns. There are many ways to release
stagnant or blocked energy from the physical body and the energy field surrounding the body down to the cellular level. However,
the key is recognizing that a shift has taken place. And it’s the who…what…where…when…why questions
that helps us to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
According to Caroline Myss in her book, The Anatomy of the
Spirit, “individuals must have an internal concept of power - an ability to generate internal energy and emotional resources,
such as a belief in his or her self-sufficiency. Our attitudes and belief patterns, whether positive or negative, are all
extensions of how we define, use, or do not use, power. Not one of us is free from power issues.”
Many people
who lose something that represents power to them for example: money, a job, a game, or who lose someone in whom their sense
of self or power is vested, for example: a spouse or lover, a parent or child have the potential to develop a disease. Our
relationship to power is at the core of our health. It’s imperative that one becomes conscious of what gives or takes
away power.
Identifying your power issues facilitates healing from any illness. That's why it's so important to pay
attention to any messages your body and intuitions are sending to you about those issues.
The human energy field contains
and reflects the emotional energy created by our internal and external experiences, which can be experienced, as positive
or negative. The human energy field is a buffer system from the outside world (our environment) to the inside world (our bodies).
It’s how we experience and perceive life. How we relate to the self, to others, and to the outside world. It’s
a means by which we gain awareness. This emotional force influences the physical tissues within our bodies.
When having
conversations or experiences with people pay attention to where you feel it in your body. There is an energy exchange taking
place; and it will be positive or negative. If the theme is negative and repeats itself over and over to become more than
a feeling in a specific area and has the potential to progress towards dis-ease.
So let’s say you go to a job
every single day that you can’t stand. (The energy meter goes down) Or perhaps you have a significant other that always
has to be right, no room for compromise. (The energy meter goes down) Or maybe you use your children as an excuse as to why
you don’t allow yourself at a minimum 5 minutes of alone time per day. (The energy meter goes down) Or maybe you have
a significant other that is inconsiderate of your needs and is downright selfish. (The energy meter goes down) Maybe there
is physical, mental, or emotional abuse taking place in your personal or business life. (The energy meter goes down) Maybe
you have a lot of negative self-talk. (The energy meter goes down) Maybe you or someone that you care for has had a serious
injury. (The energy meter goes down) And the list could go on and on.
When a shift of energy takes place in or around
us that raises the body’s stress level it sets forth a pattern. Depending on the situation if this pattern isn’t
broken and/or steps taken to rejuvenate yourself it leads to feelings of unworthiness, being unloved, not being respected,
fatigue, anger, jealousy, increased anxiety, and nervousness to name just a few. Basically some form of physical, emotional,
or mental negativity has taken place and this definitely has an effect on the body. A shift of subtle energy can leave one
energized or depleted.
So what can you do? Well pay attention, pay attention, pay attention to situations, people,
circumstances. Do you feel better or worse? What is happening? Where do you feel it in your body? Does it happen when you
are around a particular person? Does it happen when you are in a particular situation? Have you ever been told you are overly
sensitive? Everyone has their own energetic styles, some are beneficial, and others aren’t. The body gives us internal
clues, from external situations, and steps can be taken to avoid failure of our health. It’s all about paying attention
to your body’s intuitive signals.
Every act of each person creates a resonating vibration in the world that
can move life to a higher level of functioning or to a lower level of functioning. It is necessary to learn how to dissolve
or release negative patterning that lies within our cells for “whole” health. This technique can be used for
many situations. Here a just a few examples of when to ground yourself: at the start your day, before on important meeting,
anytime throughout the day, before you give a presentation, before you participate in an athletic event, before you make an
important call, when someone has been less than kind or polite, or when you feel fatigued. When driving, please keep your
eyes open! Use the grounding technique frequently so that your body gets used to feeling in balance. You’ll become aware
of when a subtle change has taken place, and you can rejuvenate yourself immediately and have a greater sense of well being.

The Art of Breathing - Your First Key to Unlimited Energy By Pradeep Aggarwal
Yes, breathing
is an art, and it is a very scientific art. The act of breathing is much more than inhaling and exhaling air. It triggers
off a whole chain of physio-biological reactions, spanning each of the billions of cells that make up our bodies. Extra oxygen
in the blood stream stimulates the excretory system, thereby clearing the body of harmful toxins. Extra oxygen in the brain
provides additional energy and vitality. Deep meditative breathing is a kind of reminder to the body that all is fine and
in control.
Breathing has always been a part of our wellness arsenal, but somehow as one grows older, breathing becomes
less and less scientific. It becomes shallow, and we begin to breathe in the chest, rather than the stomach.
So, what
is the correct way of breathing?
Have you ever seen a baby breathe? In and out, deep and even, slow, easy and calm.
If you look closely, you will see that it is not the chest that is rising and falling, rather it is the stomach. To put it
more precisely, it is the diaphragm, the muscle between the chest and the abdominal cavity, which moves.
Now, compare
this with your own style of breathing. Chances are that you will find that it differs. If you are like most people, your upper
chest expands as you inhale and contracts as you exhale. Over the years, you have learned to hold your stomach in.
The
trouble is that this has become something normal in most people's lives. Over the years, life in a crowded city, with chronic
pollution problems and a lack of fresh air can result in the gradual shift from abdominal breathing (also called Belly Breathing)
to chest breathing.
This shift in breathing pattern, however, is not a natural feature of growing older. Many experts
are of the opinion that this is simply a bad habit. They also believe that by breaking the habit, and returning to a style
of breathing like that of an infant, we can help rid ourselves of chronic complaints headaches and fatigue. Moreover, by adopting
a proper breathing technique, we may be able to ward off stress, lower our blood pressure, and strengthen our hearts and much
more.
"The way we breathe can have a profound effect on the way we feel," says psychologist Dr. Phil Nuernberger, author
of 'Freedom From Stress.' "Many stress related ailments, whether physical, mental or emotional, may be caused by improper
breathing, and fortunately, they can be easily reversed by adopting scientific breathing mechanisms."
Apart from the
health benefits, deep breathing also results in a much better feeling of well-being. It encourages creativity, stimulates
memory, and calms emotional extremities.
Practicing Belly Breathing
Find a comfortable place to sit down. Make
sure you are wearing thin and comfortable clothing. Now, place your right arm on your stomach, and breathe in the following
manner.
1. Breathe in through the nose, counting two. 2. Hold, counting up to four. 3. Breathe out through
the mouth, counting three.
As you breathe in, feel your stomach fill up with air and expand outwards, and as you breathe
out, feel your stomach deflate.
Do this ten times, three times a day for the next one week and see how your health
improves.
Happy Breathing for a Healthy LIFE.

3 steps to kick off your energy! By Francisco Bujan , professional life & business coach
Today's focus is on motivation.
Motivation is one of the great secrets of our mind. Motivation
is emotional fuel. It is the starting point to any step in life. Having clear energy sources and motivation channels
is one of the main keys to success.
Here are three direct ways to pump up your life:
Step 1: Focus on what thrills you!
Motivation is about excitement. To be motivated in life, simply focus
on what thrills you.
If you face a motivation gap, focus first on your passion.
When you take action out of excitement, you build
up emotional fuel, emotional reserves. When you prioritize life around what truly matters, you see your
motivation rise in a very spectacular way.
- Are you excited about your goals?
- Are you doing this for yourself or for others?
- Let go of "shoulds"!
- Take a white page and write down 10 things you feel excited
in doing.
Step 2: Identify what drains you
Everything in and around us is
energy. Some activities, behaviors or locations tend to drain us; some others pump us up.
We are bombarded by millions of psychic impressions each day.
Our being is a vast system digesting and integrating new energies every single minute.
Check your environment:
- Is anything draining your energy?
- It can a demanding partner who puts you down.
- It can be this colleague at work who does not respect
you.
- It can be draining friends who feed themselves from
your presence.
- Spend more time with those who believe in you and stay away
from those who drain you.
- Design your environment to support your goals.
- How much more do you want to give up before you say: Enough!
Develop clear boundaries and give when you want to give, not when you are forced to.
Build clear boundaries to protect your mind and personal space.
Learn to say "No", "maybe", "Later, not now".
Step 3: Take action
Doubts, fears, hesitations are closed doors. They are what
holds you back. When you listen to doubts and fears, you hold back from life. You feed inaction and passivity. To break that
cycle, simply take action. Start by small steps. What is the first thing that comes
to your mind.
- Aim for good not perfect.
- See any mistake as a learning experience.
- Shift your mind and start loving risk rather than avoiding
it. "I love risk!" "Any challenge is an opportunity to grow"
- Action is what brings you from where you are to where you want
to be.
Why does action give you energy? Because action gives you
life. The moment you take action you manifest your natural life power and stimulate your body and mind. Action
means life.
These were the tips for today.
10 Things That Steal Your Energy & Make You
Fat By Jackie Bean, Psy.D.
Overeating
is an epidemic in America. We all know how we are supposed to eat in order to be healthier, but few of us are able to sustain
a healthful eating pattern for very long. There are many reasons for this difficulty and one of the biggest is energy depletion.
When you are depleted and generally drained of energy you lose motivation to care for yourself properly. Depleted
states cause us to seek passive, vegetative comforts like television and fatty, high carbohydrate, highly processed convenience
foods that do not demand anything of us other than opening a package.
So why are so many of us depleted? Because we
tend to value working hard over working smart, we reward those who sacrifice personal and family time for their companies,
and we value caring for others over caring for ourselves, and we no longer live in communities with family that can help us
raise our kids and help us out in times of need.
There are steps that we can take to cure ourselves of constant burnout
and depleted states of being that sabotage our best efforts at healthful living. How many of the following depleters can you
identify as your own? The following circumstances steal vibrance from life and thwart good eating habits:
1. Not enough
sleep. Is there a more obvious depleter? But amazingly overlooked by many as the one thing they can do to re-create energy
and maintain their health and vitality.
2. Unexpressed emotion. If you are angry at someone or some thing and you ruminate,
complain, and find no direct, cathartic way to express yourself such as talking, writing, playing sports, etc...over time
it will fester in ways that not only drain motivation for self care but create self-defeating and self-harming behavior.
3.
Unfinished projects. Leaving projects to begin new ones creates unfinished business and little, weighty, black clouds that
follow our every move consciously or not.
4. Poor interpersonal boundaries. Setting boundaries to protect ourselves
from prioritizing the needs and wants of others above our own frees up enormous energy and empowers us toward other forms
of self care.
5. Not asking for help. Are you someone who feels that they should be able to "handle it" without burdening
others? Do you refuse help even when it is offered? Accepting help reduces stress and creates friendships so why not do it? 6.
Caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco. You know what is going to happen but you do it anyway.
7. Stress. Unresolved stress
will lead to a state of di-stress over time. If you know what relaxes you then do it. If you don't then learn. Stress will
kill you, but first it will make you fat.
8. Watching television. Yeah, we think we are relaxing, vegging out, but
watching TV takes energy, disturbes sleep, and does not give us the rest we deserve.
9. Poor Eating Habits. The epitome
of a vicious cycle. The pooerer you eat the less energy you have to improve your eating.
10. Lack of exercise. Although
it takes energy to exercise it also creates new energy and makes us feel good.
If you identify with the above depleters
you are not alone. I encourage you to develop your own personal list of circumstances (people, jobs, behaviors, emotions)that
take your energy without giving you anything in return. For one week write down any situation in which you find yourself feeling
unmotivated, bored, drained, etc.. and list it as a 'depleter'. Also, notice and document any context in which you feel energized,
hopeful and experience well-being, and list it as a 'motivator'. Now work to rid yourself of as many depleters as possible
or in some way limit or modify them. Also, spend more time in your 'motivator' situations. In addition to helping you stick
to healthy eating patterns, this process will invigorate you in ways you don't expect!

Stop Doing What Doesn't Work For You By Ineke Van Lint
Do
you want to invigorate yourself? Do you want to feel life’s energy rushing through your veins? Do you want to get on
track, get going, finally make some real headway and cruise your way through life? Then let me tell you this: in order to
get these juices flowing, you have to stop doing what does not work for you. Stop doing all those things that drain your energy
and make you feel empty. Stop sitting around and start standing up for yourself! Get rid of relationships that do not help
you grow. Get rid of food that does not feed you. Get rid of activities that do not build you up! Stop doing whatever it is
that makes you tired, irritated and grumpy. Break with people who don’t support you and deplete your energy! Stop doing
whatever it is that pulls your energy level down, and start doing whatever it is that lifts your energy level up!
1)
People – Break with people who ‘vampirize’ you – those who are constantly feeding off your precious
energy. If you feel empty and muddled after meeting with certain people, then don’t meet with them anymore! When you
feel your energy level is higher after meeting with certain people, then they are okay for you. Be aware of your energy level
and how people affect it, and then act accordingly!
2) Conversations – Stop participating in conversations that
keep you down, that make you feel annoyed or angry. Try to express your ideas in a calm and clear fashion, but if the other
is not paying attention, then leave the conversation and go on with your business!
3) Activities – Stop doing
whatever it is that makes you feel exhausted. If you don’t like cleaning the house, then find somebody else to do it
for you, EVEN if you would do a better job by yourself! The question is not, “Who does a better job?” The question
is, “What does this activity do to my energy level?” Stop doing what brings you down. Instead, do what boosts
your energy.
4) Food – Stop eating and drinking food that makes you drowsy or bad tempered. Food has a direct
influence on your mood. If drinking too much coffee makes you irritable, then don’t drink too much coffee. If drinking
one cup of coffee in the morning gives you the energy to get started, then drink one cup of coffee. If one glass of wine makes
you euphoric, then drink one glass of wine. If three glasses of wine make you feel dizzy, then don’t drink three glasses
of wine.
5) Job – Appreciate and be appreciated. If your boss talks down to you, humiliates you, and doesn’t
appreciate your work, then leave him. Find yourself a better boss! Find yourself a boss who DESERVES having YOU as an employee!
Don’t stay around someone with such a low energy level. He will keep bringing you down. Find yourself a boss or a job
that lifts up your energy level. When you try to hold on to a job that drains all your energy, then before long you will surely
develop some kind of disease. Nobody can withstand a climate of low energy without paying the high price of illness and depression.
6)
Places – Don’t stay in places where you don’t feel good. Some restaurants and cafés are so noisy that it’s
impossible to spend time there without severely attacking your energy vibrations. Too much noise, too many people, too much
chaos will inevitably drag you down. Don’t stay in a house that has a bad energy to it. If a place is good for you then
you will feel an energy boost whenever you spend time there!
This advice seems so simple that you might think I’m
treating you like a four-year old. Make no mistake! Four year-olds often have a healthier relationship with themselves than
we do. They will not go on eating or drinking something they do not feel comfortable with, but many adults do! Take their
example!
What to do when you notice that your energy level has been dragged down by a person, a place, an activity,
or anything else? No problem, you can fix it immediately! The best remedy to uplift your energy vibration is: Nature. Go for
a walk in the forest, or the park. Breathe the oxygen. Observe a flower in close-up. Look how Mother Nature very carefully
painted the nerves in the leaves, and your energy level will be skyrocketing. Watch some children play, listen to some birds
sing. Take your time.
If you can’t go out, then put on some inspirational music and dance around the table. This
will do you good. Go to a quiet room and meditate for a while. Imagine you have an energy channel starting at your spine and
going into the heart of the earth. Send down all the bad and low energy vibrations. Mother earth knows how to transform them
into high-level energy. Imagine a channel from your spine into heaven, and feel how divine celestial energy is flowing into
your body to replenish you with high-energy vibrations. See yourself surrounded by a magnificent white golden light. You can
do this even at work, sitting in front of your computer, at a meeting, anywhere, anytime. You can also carry a gemstone with
you, and “instruct” it to deviate low energy vibrations and permit only good vibrations to touch you.
You
are the shepherd of your own energy. What vibration do you prefer: high or low? It’s up to you to flow around what feels
bad and stick to what feels good. It’s up to you to clean up your energy field. Nothing too complex, just regular maintenance.
Take an energy shower in the forest. Breathe!
Sexual Energy By Chandi Devi
© 2005 The World of Tantra.com All Rights Reserved
Sexual Energy can be awakened and transmuted through meditation and lovemaking
between a man and a woman. The sex act is a divine act in itself. Lovemaking between a man and woman, when entered into with
complete awareness, is a gateway to both sexual and spiritual ecstasy.
There is an immense potentiality in harnessing
our kundalini Shakti (sexual energy). Once activated and contained in the body, it can be transformed and released to Cosmic
Awareness.
Genuine tantra yoga practices have been lost in place of sensual fulfillment. There is so much more to
tantra than what has been portrayed.
The awakened kundalini can alter our lives in a beneficial way. It can motivate
us and give us the ability to achieve excellence in whatever we do. It can improve our health and maintain our youthful vitality.
It can keep our bodies and minds ever youthful. It can definitely improve our personal relationships, re-acquaint and re-affirm
our relationship to Supreme Consciousness.
How to awaken kundalini? We can learn to activate and direct this sexual
energy with sincere desire, unwavering effort and spiritual knowledge. This does not happen overnight. Besides having a lot
of practice and intention, it is imperative that all seekers have three shaktis (energies): iccha (desire), jnana (knowledge),
and kriya (action). Having a desire (iccha) to be a good lover, and knowing (jnana) all the exercises will do nothing if we
don’t actually practice (kriya). Or doing the practices (kriya) without any knowledge (jnana) is pretty useless. Doing
the exercises (kriya) and having the knowledge (jnana) how to do it, without a true desire (iccha) will achieve nothing. All
three shaktis must be present to manifest and accomplish any of our desires and goals.
Our journey begins with learning
how to awaken the kundalini Shakti and be free from the limitations of the mind. One way we can do this is by raising the
energy during sexual union through the chakra system (the plexii) …where the more mature delights manifest.
Tantra
is the path of surrender and honoring of the yoni (the uterus) and lingam (the Divine Phallus). When we surrender our ego
we are free to honor and worship the lingam and yoni, without inhibition. Then we will see the divineness in our partner,
in ourselves, and all of life itself.
The lingam, the thunderbolt of consciousness, is the male prime cause of the
Universe, (Shiva), who, unless awakened by Shakti, remains inert. The yoni, the container of energy, is the Goddess Mother
of the Universe, the creator of life, who stirs Shiva and arouses him to join her in union. This is not only the union between
a man and a woman, but ultimately their merging into one Supreme Consciousness.
Kundalini is depicted as a serpent
coiled three times around the lingam in the yoni. To activate the sexual energy during sexual union, we contract the muscles
of our anus and thighs in a lock called the mulabhanda and kundalini starts to awaken at the first chakra, the Muladhara,
at the base of the spine. Shiva, Lord of the Animals, Pashupati, reigns over our primal instincts and passions and we need
to invoke his energy. We surrender to his churning action, losing our inhibitions and become the witness, not the doer. The
nerve chakra in the physical body is the sacro-coccygeal plexus. In our video we show you how to isolate the sex muscles and
strengthen them. After a month of daily exercise an improvement in the sexual experience will be apparent to yourself and
to your partner.
Shiva and Shakti together can direct this primal vigor energy (ojas) up to the second chakra, Svadhistan,
and the prostatic plexus.
By contracting the abdomen during lovemaking, we activate the third chakra, Manipura, located
at the center of the body around the navel area. It is at the fourth chakra, the Anahat, that sexual passion is converted
into love, converting the primal sexual energy to tejas, or light, inner radiance. Our being opens to bliss. This connection
and bonding takes the couple to a new sacred level. This is the true solar plexus, the cardiac plexus.
From the heart
chakra, kundalini Shakti moves to the Visshuda, the throat chakra and communication center. We will know when this center
has been pierced. We feel free to express ourselves and verbalize our wants and needs; we also have the ability to communicate
psychically when we have pierced this center. Simple exercises shown on our video will help activate this opening.
When
the sixth chakra, the Ajna, in the area of the third eye, is pierced we have the gift of inner vision and intuition. Linked
to the pituitary gland this lunar plexus regulates and controls many of our endocrine and hormonal functions.
Sahasrara,
the crown chakra, is the home of Shiva. Called the thousand-petaled lotus the corresponding plexii is the pineal gland in
the physical body. This is the psychic center for Divinity. This is the abode of Liberation, where the individual swims in
the ocean of Sat-Chit-Ananda… Existence, Consciousness and Bliss Absolute.
Through sacred love, we can merge
the dual nature of our sexuality into an ecstatic union. Through this will come the harmonization of our own internal masculine
and feminine polarities and a realization of the blissful nature of our true Self.
Every journey begins with the first
step. Do the exercises and meditations on a regular basis and master them until they become second nature. Then get together
with your partner and practice the techniques on the video. However complicated this may seem at first, with practice it will
come naturally. As long as there is jnana, iccha, and kriya we can expect success!
Good Luck and God Bless!
